Exmouth Stroke And Friendship Club

We offer friendly meeting place for people living with dementia or memory difficulties, and their carers and families. The cafe is run by a group of volunteers who provide tea and homemade cake. The aim is to create opportunities for meeting others in a social environment with people who understand, can provide help and support and a listening ear.

We are committed to offering a holistic approach to care and support, focusing on creating moments of joy, connection, and purpose. Through innovative programs and compassionate care, we aim to empower individuals and their families to navigate the journey of memory loss with grace and compassion.

Our vision is to be the leading provider of person-centred care and support for individuals with memory loss. We envision a community where every individual is embraced with empathy and understanding, and where each person’s journey is honoured and celebrated. By promoting awareness, education, and inclusivity, we strive to build a society that values and respects the unique experiences of those living with memory loss. also for the genural public

Our Values

We are a value-led organisation with a strong social purpose. The work we do together with communities and partners, to connect, advocate and enable people to move more is driven by our values:

Collaboration
We overcome more challenges by walking the journey together.

Inclusion
Movement is for everyone.

Trust
Building trusting relationships is vital in enabling people to move more.

How We Work
We know that we cannot achieve our ambitions on our own. Our approach will be to build relationships and influence with those who can enable people to move more.

We also know that how we work together is as important as what we try to achieve.

In our work, we will work will be to:

  • Champion equality, diversity and inclusion, whilst challenging inequality

  • Value community perspectives, being people led

  • Listen and act upon what we learn from lived experiences.

  • Be collaborative by default because working together achieves greater impact.

  • Focus on relationships with other who value trust as we do.

  • Value flexibility, being innovative with our approach because solutions are often bespoke and need to be discovered

  • Be open about how we prioritise resources
